I had the pleasure of serving on the annual 5 Acres Golf Tournament committee to help raise funds for the amazing 5 acres organization. Since 1888, Five Acres has protected the most vulnerable members of our community: children. Originally founded in downtown Los Angeles as an orphanage, Five Acres was initially created to offer safety to children who had no home. In time, their mission expanded to also focus on the well-being and mental health of our clients who were increasingly coming to us as a result of abuse or neglect.
This year’s 36th annual golf tournament supporting the 5 Acres charity in Pasadena was a spectacular event filled with Nashville Southern charm, lively entertainment, and the spirit of community. Benefitting foster children, the Nashville Nights-themed tournament drew 126 golfers and over 200 dinner guests for a day of fun, philanthropy, and friendly competition. So many wonderful vendors in the industry came together to support me in creating a fun Nashville themed NIght! BBJ La Tavola Linens, Nuage, Signature Party Rentals and Paradise Florist were very generous to donate the event decor.
A Day on the Green
Golfers arrived bright and early, eager to enjoy the course and partake in exciting on-course activations. The well-loved Nothing Bundt Cakes provided sweet treats in the form of bite-sized bundtinis, adding a sugary boost during the game. Fogo de Chão offered small plates that brought the rich flavors of Brazil to the event, while StretchLab Pasadena helped players stay limber with guided stretching sessions between holes.
For many, the real fun started with the purchase of the VIP for the Kids package, which offered a memorable day filled with exciting extras. This package included two corn hole games, a thrilling golf cannon shot, and two coveted Mulligans. One of the most enticing elements of the VIP package was the chance to win an exclusive wine and whiskey collection—around 25 bottles generously donated by the golf committee.
Evening Festivities: Music City Style
As the sun began to set, the fun didn’t stop. Guests gathered for the evening program, where the vibrant atmosphere of Nashville Nights truly came alive. Cocktail hour was made even more special with a live performance from Wood & Steel Live Music Company, setting the tone for a night of celebration and entertainment.
Attendees mingled, took photos at the Music City-inspired backdrops, and admired the themed décor that captured the essence of Nashville’s honky-tonk culture. It was an evening where cowboy boots, string lights, and Southern hospitality took center stage.
